"Vote"

Once an illustrator for The New York Times and Time, Sue Coe ventured into the art world to address critical social and cultural issues the mainstream media wouldn't. Coe, who immigrated to the U.S. from England in 1972, has since become a major political artist. Now, for the first time in 13 years, she has a solo exhibition in L.A. On display will be prints, etchings, and original drawings from her 2000 print cycle The Tragedy of War, as well as her latest book, Bully: Master of the Global Merry-Go-Round, in which very tiny and detailed illustrations express her enormous outrage at the Bush administration's violations of human rights. Closes Dec. 4.
